The whale, estimate to be 1 year old, was spotted approximately 3 miles off the coast with fishing line running through its mouth and entangled around its fluke area.

Guy Harvey Paints Shark Mural at SeaWorld Orlando
On May 23 and 24, visitors to SeaWorld Orlando will have the unique opportunity to watch world-renowned marine artist and conservationist Guy Harvey paint a signature mural in the park’s new realm, Shark Wreck Reef. The 16-foot by 24-foot original artwork, featuring a Mako shark, will join only a handful of murals created by the celebrated artist and will be a focal point in the heart of SeaWorld’s Orlando park.

Meet Dr. Kelsey Herrick, a Great SeaWorld Vet
I have met great people at SeaWorld San Diego who help save animals but sometimes I have questions after I go home to Arizona. When I’m not at SeaWorld I make a list of questions and send them to the friends I’ve met, like Dr. Kelsey Herrick. She’s a SeaWorld veterinarian that helps take care of the animals that live in the park and the ones that need help because they were sick or hurt and rescued.

SeaWorld Comes to the Aid of Orphaned Primates
The SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund has been a leader in wildlife conservation, research and conservation education for 13 years. And while most of the grants awarded by the Fund go to projects with defined timelines and long-term objectives and goals, the Fund does receive requests for crisis grants when conservation organizations are faced with unforeseeable challenges.

Started by SeaWorld, and now including universities, professional aquarists, aquaculture facilities and retail pet supply companies as partners, Rising Tide Conservation promotes efforts to breed and raise marine tropical fish in aquaculture facilities rather than collecting them in the wild.

CHAMPIONS OF THE WILD - SeaWorld Commits $1.5 Million to The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation
SeaWorld and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) announced an additional commitment of $1.5 million over three years from SeaWorld to the Killer Whale Research and Conservation Program (KWRCP). The program is dedicated primarily to providing support to aid in the recovery of the endangered Southern Resident killer whale population found in the coastal waters of Washington State and surrounding areas, known as the Salish Sea.
